Colors of India!
We're most ardently the extreme of fashion, from the minimal world of our mother's ivory and hues of powder blue to the Millennial and GenZs of our maximal Rani pink, we're in the making!
We are around the festive season of the country and I can't wait to see the colors of India, My mother used to tell me, the Blue is for the Monday (I didn't knew Monday blues were a thing!), Orange for Tuesdays, Green your the Wednesday, Yellow for the Thursdays, White for the Fridays, Black for the Saturdays oh & finally comes the Sunday and blink comes the Monday! But are we really deeply that color conscious or were the ancestors so so sure about their color theory. History has always been so fascinating, you can live the past in your present. A time travel is the only journey I can always. Color is the best way to describe the richness of the Indian culture.
Clothing & colors are one such phenomenon which has travelled across generations, changed and evolved with time, maybe in some way taught the world it's 'way of living'. India, however is an entire world in it's own shell the charismatic beauty of colors, diversity in each of it's own the style, the cuts, the silhouettes and everything in between has laid the foundation of fashion in the country.
Several google searches shows, 'Is India the most colorful place on Earth?' and somehow among all the colors, the individuality of diversity stands out. As history has been my compass to travel the ancient times without flexing much! The western countries are mostly subtle and pale considering the output to be much more minimalist than other countries but us, we are the real and the simple ones! The sunrise and sunset glues us to the magic of gradation from the blues to the pinks of sky it's a culinary treat to watch. But how do we define the colors of India, today? encompassing through the time of history we were rich in colors that meant something to the people, every color they wear has some meaning to it. Today, the meaning of colors is lost in the urban India! colors that elevates the mood, saves your day from the Brood.
What I think of colors, today! well a country as diverse as India where a truck is more vibrant and opulent than the driver it is perhaps, the common and a real expression to describe the multiverse of the traditions, lifestyle and diversity of India. And because of the diversity, we are the home to the myriad interpretations and representations of symbols and colors, we are so varied in varieties it makes the entire concept of colors so wholesome, the colors represent different emotions to different people living in various regional, geographical and religious divides. Even though divided by the region we still have some universal facts of colors that binds us together, by regional and geographical differences aren't much versatile in the concept of colors, the colder areas won't definitely wear a light chiffon kaftan to the hills only to be draped in the flow of ice, something dark that can absorb the heat and be functional at the time, usually sets the demand and creates the meaning out of it.
I don't feel we are divided or ruled by the subject of religious colors, today something that respects the older faith deeply with colors. Colors stands strong as perhaps the most stoic example of unity in a world so divided. And the colors that hold it together are the colors of faith, pride, and love – feelings that overcome all differences.
Jaipur the pink city, Jodhpur the blue paradise, Schiaparelli channeling the Indian pink with much velour, and the warm, bright colors of the east offer a kaleidoscope for insight into an almost perfect blend of history and modernism. There are innumerable hues left to explore, I can't wait to find one! the amount of diversity in culture and tradition we have in our country makes us the truly unparallel and unmatched in the skills of Colors everywhere.
