Often Handmade and Technology are seen as two poles apart concept but what if Indian craftsmen along with the new-age technology create a world which no one have ever seen! Knock Knock! Its time we talk about this and make it happen!

India, has always been rich in diversity a boon that makes the country so vivid and truly enriched. We are actually the world of our own, handcrafts is something that is the backbone of this country and truly the most important aspect of our lives, the amount of creativity our artisans have is truly unparallel and unmatched in the world skill, we are the best! and I can say that all loud.

But since changing times have indeed changed the time, the handloom and craftsmen industry has had the major economic growth in the country but the idea of technology has degraded the amount of skill our artisans had. 


HOW CAN LOCAL ARTISAN PROMOTE THEIR CRAFT ON DIGITAL PLATFORMS


 Its no rocket science and half the Indians are already using internet but why we still lag, why are we still behind, sometimes I feel we are not  even in the race,

 ‘Amazon Handmade’ is also a platform for artisans who want to sell their handcrafted products on a wider platform. This platform has categories from jewelry clothing to home essentials. Many platforms such as Etsy, tijori,  ‘theindianhouse.com,’ ‘shop.gaatha.com,’ etc., help artisans showcase their work to a bigger audience. This awareness helps in attracting customers and sale of various handicrafts. 

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently had an informative and eye-opening campaign for local artisans of Tamil Nadu, where she openly talked about how the creators of the craft were merely getting one-fourth of the price and how the have been lagged behind due to the excessive fast fashion and under utilization of the technology the government could actually provide. 

It's time we go Vocal for Local and make India truly Global!
